Cisco, global leaders in Networking and Infrastructure Management and NIIT have entered into an alliance to develop and enhance the IT infrastructure management talent pool in the Asia Pacific region.

Significant talent shortage in the Infrastructure Management space has opened up multiple career options for aspiring students and professionals. As part of the agreement, NIIT will offer training programs on Cisco’s latest tools and technologies in the Networking and Infrastructure Management space, across NIIT’s select IT education centres in the Asia Pacific region. NIIT will provide training on Cisco’s authorized curriculum and enable Cisco certification for students aspiring to build careers as networking professionals and system engineers.

The partnership is in line with Cisco’s aim to expand India’s networking workforce capacity to 360,000 engineers in the next five years, a six-fold increase over present employment levels. Element K, the US based learning solutions company, and an integral part of NIIT’s training network now, has been a Cisco Certified Learning Solutions Partner (CLSP) for North America.

NIIT has partnered CompTIA to offer highly specialised training programme in Networking and Infrastructure Management technologies. The industry endorsed curriculum provides students with real time unique experience of Infrastructure Management, Business Desktop Deployment, WAN, OS Deployment etc., and training to pursue globally mapped certification programmes such as A+, Network+, MCDST, MCSE, CCNA, thus making them ‘Industry Ready and Future Proof’.

This initiative is supported by latest educational methodologies that are designed to impart practical networking skills through dedicated networking labs that provide exposure to latest technologies and vLAB for real time learning and experience.

EMC2
NIIT and EMC2 Corporation have entered into an alliance with NIIT to offer advanced level of education and certification on storage technologies in India and 31 other countries worldwide, where NIIT has its network. This is the first such global alliance signed by EMC2.

Information storage and management is among the top concern areas for organisations globally. Rapid information growth; multiple storage technologies and solutions; and regulatory compliance pressures have further increased complexity. As per industry estimates, the booming information market is expected to create a demand of 1 million new storage professionals by 2012 globally.

Training and certification under this alliance are product-agnostic. NIIT has been working closely with global leader Microsoft to provide training on the software major's state-of-the-art technology platforms. NIIT's strategic alliance with Microsoft has positioned the training major as the latter's Premier Education and Training partner in India. NIIT and Microsoft have shared a deep and long association over the last many years: NIIT was the first independent courseware developer for Microsoft outside of USA. NIIT has the oldest and largest network of Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centers (CTECs) in India.
